As an artist who started in grade school painting landscapes in pastels, I worked in a variety of media while pursuing a non-art career until I realized that my 'wiring' is basically that of an artist. I was seeing art in a science world.
It took a few years, more art education and experiences to figure out what I wanted to do with my art 'when I grew up'. I did two things: 1) focused on painting and 2) decided I would never grow up! It was finally okay to let the child in me be free. The little girl who got excited over a new box of crayons still thrills over the explorations with new art supplies and media! I'm a kid in a candy store if I go inside an art supply store!
Color is my passion, so that's what I endeavor to perfect in my paintings........sunflowers, garden flowers, seascapes, rural western landscapes with horses and cattle added on occasion...my life experiences.
By changing my media (oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels) I keep my spontaneity and creativity going.
